E.A.S.L. was started in 1995 in response to a lethal handgun accident involving one boy in our community. Our congregation responded by starting a fall youth soccer program that has grown to serving over 160 boys and girls ages 4-11. The sports league has grown to include basketball and volleyball. This is a skills-based, non-competitive league where all the children get to play and scores are not kept.
Growing out of the sports ministry, an arts ministry has flourished offering classes including summer art camps and a music theater camp.
Our Goals and Core Values
  • To make the church once again a center for nurturing healthy bodies, creative minds and spirits.
  • To help children understand that they are gifted by God and when they use their gifts they glorify God, learn mutual respect, self-esteem, and the importance of teamwork.
  • To encourage all children to participate in public exhibits, performance, recital or team competition.
  • To foster a life-long appreciation for healthy bodies, the arts, and spirituality.
