Pastor’s Corner
Welcome to the new year! My New Years Resolution is to walk closer with God and “finish well” this chapter in my life. I have prayed long and hard and asked God for permission to retire from full-time pastoral service. At the end of June, that will become a reality.
This summer will compete my 4th year serving and loving the folks at Ebenezer. That also completes my 24th year of full-time pastoral ministry. I have already been praying that the Lord will appoint another “good fit” who will continue to lead you all closer to God and one another.
That was a difficult decision, but the real focus is on “finishing well.” I have worked hard to ensure that every one of us knows we are loved by God. And since we are loved, we are called and empowered by God to make a difference in this world. I have never been in a congregation that is this mission focused. We are making a difference. God is working; there is powerful testimony every week! People are discovering that they are ministers when they answer the nudges of the Holy Spirit to be the hands, feet, and heart of Christ in our community. And there is more to do.
Let us commit this year to draw closer to God and one another. Let us spread the news that God loves us, brokenness and all. And that God loves us enough not to leave us this broken. This world needs love and hope! (Can I have an Amen?) I am convinced God can use each of us to help bring this message of hope and love to a hurting world. January 2026 is just the beginning of a new chapter in our great adventure. Blessings, Pastor Tom

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give,
not reluctantly or under compulsion,
for God loves a cheerful giver.
