E.A.S.L. was started in 1995 in response to a lethal handgun accident involving one boy in our community. Our congregation responded by starting a fall youth soccer program, which at its peak, served 160+ children.  While our soccer program has run its course, our basketball program has grown and expanded.  This is a skills-based, non-competitive league where all the children get to play. Growing out of the sports ministry, an arts ministry has flourished offering a variety of summer camps.

Our Goals and Core Values

  • To make the church once again a center for nurturing healthy bodies, creative minds and spirits.

  • To help children understand that they are gifted by God and when they use their gifts they glorify God, learn mutual respect, self-esteem, and the importance of teamwork.

  • To encourage all children to do their very best and to use their God-given talents as much as possible.

  • To foster a life-long appreciation for healthy bodies, the arts, and spirituality.
