Loaves & Fishes

Loaves & Fishes is Ebenezer’s food pantry.  Whether taking referrals from CAPS to serving a church or local community member or being contacted by a stranger in crisis, we reach out to help those in need.  Currently, we have three cabinets to store essentials for those coming in for assistance and we need to restock what we have given out and keep food stock rotated on a regular basis.

There is a critical need for these items:

Condensed Milk Paper Towels
Ketchup Toilet Paper
Bags of Rice Ramen Noodles
Pancake Mix Tomato/Pasta Sauce
Syrup Salt/Pepper
Dry Pasta Mayo
Kids Juice Boxes Cooking Oil
Flour Sugar

Meals On Wheels

www.suffolkmealsonwheels.com

Meals On Wheels–Suffolk is dedicated to ending all Senior hunger by the year 2020.  Ebenezer has a team of volunteers who improve the quality of life for senior and disabled residents by delivering meals to those in need in the Suffolk and Isle of Wight area.  The volunteers pick up the meals at Sentara Obici Hospital to deliver them to various areas between the hours of 11:30 and 1:00.

Pennies From Heaven

Pennies From Heaven is the unexpected fortune of a caring hand up for those in need; through the collection of your loose change.  Each quarter, a check is written to a local charity or organization who helps the needy.  Volunteering is easy—Look for a display and a marked can, drop your coins in and listen to the joyful noise!

School Supply Drive

School Supply Drive collects school supplies for needy children at Oakland Elementary School (K-5 grade).  Supplies are collected through the month of August and then delivered for distribution to the students for the first day of school.

New Horizons Adult Home

New Horizons is a group home in Smithfield for men.  Outreach includes cooking meals, doing maintenance and clean up work and providing Thanksgiving meal and Christmas gifts for the residents.

Warm Hands & Hearts

Warm Hands & Hearts supplies winter clothing and essentials to the homeless in our community.  With donations of new and lightly used (and clean) winter clothing supplied by the congregation and local friends, we can multiply our outreach to those in need.  Collected items are then donated to the Wesley Community Services Center.

We Care

We Care is a ministry that touches the lives of infants, children, adults and seniors through crocheted, knitted, sewed and tied items.  Items crafted include blankets, infant hats, bereavement buntings, gowns, socks, travel bags, lap blankets and comfort shawls.

You don’t have to know how to sew, knit or crochet, though.  Volunteers are always needed to deliver these items to local hospitals, shelters, health departments, senior centers, church family and community friends!
